This was not because of refer a friend, I seen this happen only a handful of times since working at dtv for the past couple of years.

Customer 1 refers Customer 2. They are both on the phone to make sure that Customer #1 gets credit for sendign Customer 2 dtv way.

Order gets setup and dtv ask for a card to complete the order for the 21 in delivery and handling charges fr the equipment. Friend 1 either doesnt hav the money right now or doesnt have a debit / credit card and using one of those prepaid dealswhich dtv system does not accept so friend one being a good friend steps up and pays the 21 dollars and friend 2 there dear friend.

Well that places friends 1 card on file with freinds 2 account and if friend 2 never calls in his own number to replace friends 1 nothing ever get removed. The card is not charge it just sit there if the account should go inot collection or unpaid amount.

Friend 2 pays bill on time and regular so friend 1 card is never hit . Then freidn two looses service either by non payment or death in this case . No one calls to get anything straighten out account goes into collections and then it charges friend 1 card not knowing it is friends 1 card it just a computer after all.

Friend 1 calls upset for good reason we will out a form and get friends 1 money back.

I am not in the business of slandering competitors without reason, but it's good to stay aware of the facts. I would rather choose to focus on the attributes of my company. While DirecTV was given an "F" by the Better Business Bureau, DISH network was rated #1 in Customer Satisfaction in 2010 by ACSI. DISH offers a higher quality product at a much better rate. Take a look at Dishnetwork.com to find more reasons to choose DISH!!

Man I just feel horrible reading this...your TV is supposed to be source of entertainment, enjoyment, and relaxation, not the focal point of frustration. I guess I just feel lucky as a DISH Network customer...the techs are awesome and efficient, and the few times I had a problem they were right there either in person or over the phone to fix it for me or get it taken care of. They offer the most HD in the industry and also rank higher in Loyalty, Value, and Customer Satisfaction. I'd recommend a service just because my experience AS A CUSTOMER has been fantastic.

DTV is a joke!! We cancelled on the day that THEY told us our contract was up and they still charged us an early cancellation fee!! Apparently the rep told us the wrong date and they won't reverse the fee!! We have filed complaints with the FTC and BBB. I am 100% sure there will be a class action and we will all get our money back!

I cancelled my credit card too, before I terminated service. It is the only way to stop them from taking money from your account. Make sure you file your complaints with the BBB, FCC, FTC and attorney general !!!
